DAY 1: MAUN - THE OKAVANGO DELTA

On the first day of your Botswana photo safari, you will depart for Maun on a scheduled flight to your isolated camp in the world famous place, The Okavango Delta. Traversing the delta by air will be spectacular as the largest river on earth that does not flow into the sea spills out onto the sands of the Khwai, creating a green mosaic of waterways and islands that are both visually appealing and filled with game. After check in and having lunch, you will set off on your first afternoon game drive in search of The Okavango Delta's famous residents. Your safari vacation will be guided by Botswana professional.

DAY 2 TO 4: THE OKAVANGO DELTA

In the central region of Xakanaka Concession, vast open floodplains provide some of the most stunning scenery of the region with beautiful islands fringed with riverine vegetation. Further west, the area gets progressively drier. It is Khwai. The island is known as the tip of a large sand tongue and the largest area of dry land in the vicinity during the flood season. Khwai has sandveld vegetation supporting many species of nutritious acacia and grewia shrubs which will provide an excellent browsing for the game on your Botswana photo safari.

Xakanaka Concession boasts healthy numbers of sitatunga and red lechwe. However, the former species is shy and rarely seen. Hippos and Nile crocodiles are regularly sighted on Botswana photo safaris to this area. In the drier parts of the concession, tsessebes, elephants, blue wildebeests, and plains zebras occur while lions are regularly sighted as well. Sightings of the cheetah are occasional. However, what elevates this area with regards its photographic opportunities is the leopard viewing which is rightly regarded as some of the best views in the whole of The Okavango Delta. The general game viewing, the pristine Okavango Delta scenery, and the leopards of BOGA Campsites will make this a photo safari not to be missed.
